Frequently asked Questions
Below is a series of frequently asked questions about the Anthology!
Is this a Bakudeku focused project?
Despite some recent confusion due to our decision to accept applications from people without previous Bakugou and Midoriya-centric fanfictions, this is and will continue to be a BakuDeku Anthology that follows them both in their development as a team and as a couple.
Why did you decide to accept applications from people with no previous experience in the Bakudeku Fandom?
We decided to accept applicants without previous BakuDeku fanfictions because it was important to give new members of the BakuDeku fandom the opportunity to apply for the Anthology.
This decision was not made because the Mods are displeased with the applicant pool, or because the Anthology is moving away from BakuDeku, which it's not. The team received messages from multiple new members of the fandom who wished to apply, but would not have pieces completed by the Application Period's end, and the Mod team feels it's important to give everyone the opportunity to be a part of the fandom.
Applicants without Bakugou or Midoriya-centric application pieces will be considered, but will not take priority over application pieces that include Bakugou and/or Midoriya while showcasing good characterization.
Is this a for-profit Anthology?
Yes, this Anthology is for-profit! As long as it makes a profit, all contributors will recieve payment as well as a copy of the Anthology.
If the Anthology makes a profit, it will be divided amongst contributors with 4-5K Writers receiving a flat payment. Artists will also receive a flat payment equal to that of the 4-5K Writers, with a bonus for those who create additional art for Merchandise. For both 1-1.5K drabble writers and artists only doing merchandise, payment will equal half of that for artists and 4-5K writers.
Moderators will also receive a flat pay, but all moderators have agreed to forego pay if necessary. As well, all moderators have agreed to absorb any costs if the Anthology does not make a profit, so there is no extra cost to consumers.
How is the Anthology Organized?
The Anthology is split into three sections:
Year 1: Canon Compliant
Year 2: Rivals to Lovers, Hurt/Comfort, and Angst
Year 3: Humor/Fluff
How are you dividing contributors?
We are accepting a total of 10 Artists and 30 Writers into the Anthology. They will be divided by section as follows:
Year 1:
3 Artists, 6 Writers with 4-5K Fics, and 3 with 1-1.5K Drabbles
Year 2:
3 Artists, 6 Writers with 4-5K Fics, and 3 with 1-1.5K Drabbles
Year 3:
3-4 Artists, 8 Writers with 4-5K Fics, and 4 with 1-1.5K Drabbles
What is expected of Artists?
We ask that each artist be willing to create three individual art pieces, each 1/3 of a page, for three individual writing pieces.
The total work required equates to 1 A4 page worth of art.
Artists can draw in greyscale or color, but all art will be printed in B&W unless the first stretch goal is met. After the Anthology's shipping period, artists can post their colored versions on their personal accounts.
Why did the Mod Team decide to print art in Greyscale?
The Mod team wants to do Color, but to ensure that the price of the Anthology is practical, and we can still provide colorful merchandise, we had to make a decision.
The price of printing each book more than triples when color is added. That said, we're still looking into it. So long as we reach our first stretch-goal, the Anthology will be in color with little added cost to the buyer.
Until this goal is met, it is necessary for art to be printed in B&W.
